Mitch Tonks' Six
Together with my dear friend Tim McLaughlin-Green owner of Sommelier’s Choice, we have selected some really special wines for your festive drinking.
Our selection includes one of the finest Prosecco’s money can buy, Prosecco Rustico Superiore DOCG NV Nino Franco. Primo Franco’s Rustico has once again won a Gold Medal in the Champagne & Sparkling wine awards 2017.
Second wine is collaboration with Mar de Frades an award winning Albarino producer, this year we have added our own Oyster Eater label by Bas Kennedy a dear friend and artist. We like this wine so much we decided to add two bottles.
Third wine is an unusual wine The Seahorse Rose produced from the Grolleau grape and only found in the Loire Valley, produced by Nicolas & his brother Herve, I like fresh wines and clean on the palate this is an easy drinker.
Our year allows us to travel to some wonderful places and this year was special a trip to Lisbon to meet a new producer Quinta da Boa Esperanca owned by Artur Gama. We have selected a wine produced with Arinto, Arinto is the perfect wine to serve with seafood, with the wonderful Atlantic ocean influence.
Tim and I usually find a wine that we want to share with everyone because it is rewarding affordable and just simply delicious this year it is a claret produced by the ex director of Chateau Petrus – Vieux Chateau Saint Andre 2014 Montagne Saint Emilion.
